Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow has a big role in Avengers: Age of Ultron

February 12th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

People expect a lot from Marvel at this point, and rightly so they’ve changed the game.

In addition to Dr. Strange and Black Panther, which fans have been clamoring about for years, another film fans expect is a solo female superhero film. There of course have been rumors in the past of both a Captain Marvel and a Black Widow movie being considered. Well it seems a Black widow film may be closer than we think.

In an interview with Total Film, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reveals that Avengers: Age of Ultron will include some of Black Widow’s backstory:

“We start filming the next Avengers film at the end of March. Widow’s part in that is very big. We learn more about her past and learn more about where she came from and how she became who she became in that film.”

Feige also lets slip that there has been some development work done on a possible Black Widow movie:

“The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that.”

What do you think about a Black Widow movie?

Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, James Spader as Ultron, Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Strucker, and Paul Bettany as The Vision.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1, 2015
