Greetings fellow Nerds and Nerdettes; it’s hard to believe that San Diego Comic Con 2105 is this week! Well, I mean, surely we aren’t the one Nerds to have the dates highlighted so boldly on our calendars that they can be seen from the Space Station!

With so much going on from Thursday to Sunday, there is already a buzz on what may or may not be revealed. Let’s face it, with so many interviews and talks panels for upcoming movies and TV shows, not to mention the latest promo collectibles and toys, chances are something could be missed.

We have examined the schedule like the Rebels examined the stolen Death Star plans that R2-D2 carried (you knew a Star Wars reference just had to be coming), so here is a brief outline on some of the key points we at FTN are really looking forward to:

Thursday
It’s Day one and it looks to kick off with Hand of God – this is Ron Pearlman’s new TV show of which we hope will be given audiences a brief glimpse or two. Fresh from the success that was Sons of Anarchy, this show is one that we are really looking forward to as Ron Pearlman will chat about his character, Justice Pernell Harris, and hopefully will give some hints about his vengeance.

Richard Hatch (Cpt. Apollo from 1979 BSG Series, Tom Zarek from New Series) will be hosting a Q&A panel and fan discussion of the creative direction a forthcoming Battlestar Galactica movie or series should take. I personally interviewed Richard a couple of years ago and his passion for the ideology of Galactica is as strong as ever. The last series that was made took BSG in an incredible direction, so who knows what Richard has in mind for this new series. I only hope he lets us all in on it!

William Shatner will be reading excerpts from The Autobiography of Captain James T Kirk – this could be worth the price of admission for the whole weekend!

Street Fighter V – This is one for the gamers as Francis Mao (Capcom) and a panel of Capcom’s Street Fighter experts share the latest news on Street Fighter V.

Science Channel: Raiders, Raptors and Rebels: Behind the Magic of ILM promises to give audiences a behind-the-scenes look at some of ILM’s incredible creations over the years. Fans of Star Wars, Indy, Jurassic Park, Avengers and many more will really enjoy this glimpse into THE leading special effects studio as it celebrates its 40th birthday.

Doctor Who: BBC America’s Official Panel – will make his first ever appearance at Comic-Con with stars Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) and Michelle Gomez (Missy), and lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat. For fans of Doctor Who, YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!!!

Friday
It’s Day two and it begins on a sombre note with Falling Skies: The Final Farewell. This has been a tremendous television show and no doubt the panel will let viewers get a few hints on what lies in store  during its final season.

The Walking Dead – Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, and Lennie James join executive producer and showrunner Scott M Gimple, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, executive producer Dave Alpert – need we say anymore other than AWESOME!!!

Game of Thrones – The biggest show on television gets the Q&A treatment at SDCC this year with guests including Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy/Reek, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth, Liam Cunningham as Davos Seaworth, Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell, Conleth Hill as Varys, David Nutter (director), Hannah Murray as Gilly, Carolyn Strauss (executive producer), Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, Carice van Houten as Melisandre, and Maisie Williams as Arya Stark. If there is one panel you MUST attend, this is it!!!!

IDW: The Best Panel in Recorded History – IDW chief creative officer/editor-in-chief Chris Ryall and VP of marketing Dirk Wood lay waste to a room of shocked comic fans. Panalists include Gabriel Rodriguez, John Layman, Joe Harris, James Tynion IV, Ulises Farinas, and special guests. For comic book fans, this will most likely be the highlight of the weekend!

Saturday
It’s Day three, the day that usually contains all of the heavy hitters and, more importantly, all of the big studios’ top news for upcoming releases.

Warner Bros Presentation – Standing out like a beacon is the director Zack Snyder and stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill who take the main stage with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. They are joined by cast mates Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot for a sneak peek at the 2016 epic that brings the Super Heroes together on the big screen for the very first time, from Warner Bros Pictures and RatPac-Dune Entertainment. From Pan, Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund and Peter himself, Levi Miller, together with director Joe Wright. For fans of Comic Book movies, YOU MUST WATCH THIS ONE!

The Simpsons – With news that Harry Shearer WILL be returning, creator Matt Groening, executive producers Al Jean and Matt Selman, supervising director Mike Anderson, long-time director David Silverman and the woman behind Bart Simpson, Nelson Muntz, and Ralph Wiggum, Nancy Cartwright will be giving fans an idea of what the forthcoming season holds for Springfield, and probably, the entire world!

Cartoon Voices 1 – This is one of the most loved highlights of SDCC, with various actors portraying their famous voices to well known scripts (usually Star Wars). Confirmed guests are Keone Young (Star Wars Rebels, G.I. Joe), Pat Musick (Rugrats, Extreme Ghostbusters), Eric Bauza (Ben 10, The Adventures of Puss in Boots), Jessica DiCicco (Gravity Falls, Pound Puppies), Phil Morris (Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Ultimate Spider-Man) and Josh Robert Thompson (Family Guy, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson).

Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight – Never has a Director experienced such hype and scrutiny as Quentin. He will deliver a brief glimpse into his latest project, and hopefully give the audience some cast confirmations too.

Spotlight on Stan Lee – Legendary comic writer and artist Stan Lee gives the audience a glimpse into his creative genius and more importantly, what he is currently working on.

Sunday
Its wrap up Day four and by now, it’s a good bet that attendees are completely zonked out by the insights and teasers that will have been hinted at through various panels.

Danger Mouse New Series: Exclusive Reveal – We at FTN have very fond memories of the original 80s classic cartoon, so we are eagerly looking to see what this new reboot will be like. We hope it retains the humour of the original series.

World Premiere of Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem – I’ts Comic Con and it’s an exclusive viewing of a new Batman Cartoon! There will be a screening followed by a Q&A panel with the voice actors… now that’s a perfect day!

Obviously these are just some of the highlights as there will be so much going on. Rest assured though FTN will be keeping you posted on all of the latest news, gossip and info on forthcoming releases and TV shows that it will make you feel that you are really there…well, almost.

I'm an LA journalist who really lives for his profession. I have also published work as Jane Doe in various mags and newspapers across the globe. I normally write articles that can cause trouble but now I write for FTN because Nerds are never angry, so I feel safe.
