See you at Dublin comic Con this weekend folks!

Greetings fellow Nerds and Nerdettes and this weekend (Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August) will see the return of Dublin Comic Con at The National Show Centre, Swords.

With more guests, more sets, more talks, more activities than last year, this event is set to be the biggest in the Galaxy (well Swords anyway).

Guests confirmed include Kevin Conroy (voice of Batman in the cartoon series, cartoon fims and computer games) Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore from Ghostbusters), Al Matthews (Sgt. Apone from Aliens) to name but a few. Let’s not forget that a comic con isn’t a comic con without comic guests and this year there will be Ian Churchill (illustrator for DC and Marvel including characters such as Superman, The Avengers, Deadpool) and Alan Grant (writer on Judge Dredd for over 20years) will also be in attendance.

Aside from the guests, who will signing autographs, posing for photographs and attending talks, there are also a number of other activities taking place throughout the weekend. There is a Zombie Survival Camp (note the Undead really do move fast!), an Artists Alley, and props and sets from such films as Aliens!

Also, where would a comic con be without Cosplayers! This year there is a Cosplay Contest, hosted by Cosplay Ireland and if last year is any indication, contestants will be setting that bar pretty high. Though don’t worry if you haven’t got a costume as the 501st Ireland will be on hand with their stunning array of costumes from films and television and are always willing to giving budding fans helpful hints and tips.

With props including Daleks, The Tardis, Knight Rider’s KITT not to mention face painting, wrestlers and exotic animals, there really is something for everyone this weekend.

Please note that online tickets have already sold out but you can still queue up on both days to get entry. For travel and venue information, please visit the official site

As always, your Nerd’s Marc Savage, Saxon, Andrew and me (Big Phil) will be seeing the sights and sounds (and maybe even grabbing an interview or two with the guests), so feel free to give us a shout and see you all at the con!
