After we had the leaked info about Disney Infinity last week (here) we were simply waiting for the official news hit… and it has hit hard.

Star Warscomes to Disney Infinity. What else is there to say? Well, we could add that we’re giddy to see TRON in there too or that Hulk Vs Hulkbuster on The Black Pearl is kind of awesome.

The Star Wars characters will launch with two different pack-in playsets, “Twilight of the Republic” and “Rise Against the Empire.” The former, from developer Ninja Theory, is set after Attack of the Clones and will see Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka take on a new droid army. The latter, then, hails from Studio Gobo and has Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia taking on Darth Vader with levels set on Hoth and Tatooine and during the Battle of Yavin.

Available separately are figurines of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Han Solo and Chewbacca. All Star Wars figurines will be playable in any Star Wars environment.

Outside of the Star Wars galaxy, Disney Infinity 3.0 will also introduce new figurines from the recent Avengers: Age of Ultron (including Hulkbuster), the upcoming Disney•Pixar animated feature Inside Out and even TRON: Legacy!

Disney Infinity 3.0 hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 , iOS, and Android this fall.

Check out the new trailer, footage and images below… looks like it’s time to get Infinity….

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
