Telltale Games has just confirmed the rumors, they ARE working on an episodic Games of Thrones series. The best part is it’s set for 2014.
No further information was confirmed during the brief VGX Awards tease. So no word on what characters will be featured and when it’ll be set. Development is in the very early stages, Telltale developers said.
Telltale says it’ll be similar to their previous series, and there will be big battles:
“You’ll be swinging a sword now and then.”
But not the type of heavy action scenes you’d see in other video games. It is still Telltale however and will include Telltale Games’ trademark use of narrative choices, it remains to be seen how that plays into the story of the series.
The teaser trailer used the TV series’ music and the project is being worked on in conjunction with HBO, also confirming it will be based on the TV show’s license.
It is the studio’s fourth series now confirmed to be in production, following The Walking Dead Season Two, The Wolf Amongst Us and the just-announced Tales from the Borderlands series.
