Ok, so the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie/trilogy rumour has been around for a while (here). But it just won’t go away.

Which normally leaves us thinking there’s SOMETHING to it all.

Ever since Disney took over at Lucasfilm, the idea that Ewan McGregor would be back as a slightly older Obi-Wan in a new movie – or series of movies – has been very prominent, especially with fans, and we have no problem with that. In fact we’d be downright excited for it!

As an aside, this story, if it has any truth to it, would mean that we  NEED to see him back in this way.

Anyway…

According to Schmoes Know sources McGregor is indeed in talks to return as Obi-Wan and, while we thought it could be as a Force-ghost or flashback, they are insisting this is definitely NOT the case.

There is now a lot of Obi-Wan’s story left untold and, we’ve no doubt they could easily be filled with excitement and adventure – not that a Jedi craves these things.

What do you guys think? Would an Obi-Wan movie or trilogy be a good thing? Let us know.

Oh and, speaking of Kenobi, this fan-edited clip of his speech in A New Hope really hit us in the feels…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
