The Amazing Spider-Man 2: New York Times Square New Year’s Eve Plans Announced!

December 29th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Earlier this month, it was announced that Spider-Man would make an appearance in New York’s Times Square on New Year’s Eve as part of a promotion for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Well now, the official site for the Times Square Alliance has revealed the exact schedule of Spider-Man events for New Year’s Eve.

From 9:57 PM to 10:00 PM:

“As we approach the New Year, Spider-Man joined by Marc Webb, the Director of The Amazing Spider-Man 2™ movie will appear at the Nivea Countdown Stage to wish the Times Square revelers “Happy New Year”; and lead the ten second countdown to the 10 o’clock hour accompanied by colorful pyrotechnic effects atop One Times Square. Marc will also read some of the Confetti Wishes to be mixed into the confetti release at midnight and share his wish for the New Year. After the countdown, a Happy New Year video message from Emma Stone will be featured.”

From 10:50 PM to 10:53 PM:

“There will be an exclusive Times Square Clip From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie shown.”

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Marc Webb directed movie stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jaimie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field.

The film is set to swing into theaters on April 18th, 2014 in the UK and on May 2nd in the US. While the third film is currently set for release on June 10, 2016 and a fourth film in the franchise to follow on May 4, 2018.
