A sequel to The Last of Us has been confirmed by Naughty Dog.
The game will focus on an older Ellie and Joel, with creative director Neil Druckmann confirming that the former will be a playable character in the new game – “Joel was the star in the first, Ellie is the star in this one“.
The first game, which was released in 2013, left us with a big cliffhanger that didn’t make it clear what would happen to Ellie. Given Joel’s decision to save her, there’s hopefully a lot of good story to cover in this new iteration.
At the moment, The Last of Us Part II is in early development stages with no word of a release date.
