Dwayne Johnson is attached to star in MGM’s supernatural action film Seal Team 666.
Based on the book by Weston Ochse, the story follows an elite group of Navy Seals who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there’s a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world.
Evan Spiliotopoulos, who also penned MGM’s upcoming action adventure movie Hercules starring Johnson, wrote the screenplay for the adaptation.
Hiram Garcia, a former assistant to Johnson, will produce Seal Team 666. Johnson will exec produce along with his manager, Dany Garcia, along with Brendan Deneen and Peter Joseph of Macmillan Films. The film is still is in development and has no director at this stage. It is unknown when Johnson would fit this into his hectic schedule.
Johnson recently wrapped production on Hercules: The Thracian Wars and is currently filming Fast and Furious 7.
