UPDATED: JACKMAN SPEAKS: Hugh Jackman offered $100m to play Wolverine 4 more times

August 21st, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Including X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is currently shooting and his cameo in First Class, Hugh Jackman has played Wolverine seven times. What the future holds is uncertain though. He’s hinted at potentially retiring in the near future, but also said that he was still greatly enjoying playing the character, more so than ever. Jackman turns 45 in October, I’m sure it’s not easy to stay in “Wolverine” shape. But I bet 100 million dollars may help.

A report from National Enquirer (yeah I know) claims that Jackman has been offered that enormous figure to reprise the Wolverine role for four more movies.

However, there’s a good possibility that he will turn it down, as he is unsure about signing long-term deals. A “close pal” insider tells website Comic Book Movie:

“Hugh has a big decision to make. It’s not every day an actor gets offered this kind of paycheck, but Hugh vowed never to lock himself into any multipicture deals after ‘X-Men.’ He hasn’t given any kind of answer yet, so at least he’s considering it.”

So let us know what you think about Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, four more times?

UPDATE:

Jackman has commented on the above rumour and, according to Dark Horizons, had this to say: “No it’s not true. I would never do that. I’ve never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I’ve gone around there’s been a really good reason to do it and I don’t know what that reason is from here. I’m in the middle of making this and I just promoted the other and I’m really happy with the way The Wolverine came out.”
