A couple of years ago there was a new film version of Zorro announced called Zorro Reborn. It was described as ”a futuristic reboot of the Zorro mythology.” Though the project has never been officially greenlit, ShowBizCafe has unearthed a proof of concept trailer developed by 20th Century Fox.
The site reports that director Ricardo de Montreuil was attached to helm the reboot and directed the trailer, which you can see below and features Jason Day as Zorro. When the project was originally announced, Gael Garcia Bernal was said to be Zorro.
It’s uncertain if 20th Century Fox will ever move forward with the project, which reportedly features a script credited to Glenn Gers, Stevie Long, Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman, with Justin Marks having done rewrites.
