February 7th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Thanks to IGN, we’ve got the first trailer for the upcoming free-to-play, browser-based MMO Transformers Universe!

First teased in 2012, Transformers Universe will be launching this summer from developer Jagex Games. In the game, players will be able to command their own squad of Autobots OR deceptions around the world in various online battles.

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard had this say:

“Your squad of Bots are a faction-specific collection with their own play styles, weaponry, augment options and specialties. There are countless fighting strategies when battling them and we really believe they will crystallise, embody and capture both what Transformers is all about and your imaginations.”

Previously planned to be an MMO, it has now been reimagined as a massively online tactical action game, or MOTA, boasting “fast-paced, battle centric, tactical action”. A selection of gameplay modes will be available to ensure casual and hardcore Transformers fans alike will be pleased.
