From the set of The Expendables 3, Kellan Lutz shares the teaser trailer for Renny Harlin’s Hercules: The Legend Begins (formerly Hercules 3D). He promises the full trailer shown at NYCC.
Specific plot details are unknown but apparently at its center will be “a love story between the son of Zeus and the mortal princess of Crete, who was promised to his older brother despite her love for Hercules.”
Hercules: The Legend Begins is written by Sean Hood and Hanna Weg with a cast that also includes Gaia Weiss, Scott Adkins, and Liam McIntyre. It is aiming for a March 2014 release.
The movie is one of two huge Hercules movies being made by Hollywood, the other is an MGM/Paramount co-production starring Dwayne Johnson as the hero and directed by Brett Ratner. They seem to be taking the more grounded approach, while Harlin and Lutz’s Hercules will be more true to the original mythology.
