WATCH: Trailers and character posters arrive for The Suicide Squad UPDATED with second trailer

Well, there’s no arguing, the trailer is here for James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel, em, The Suicide Squad, and it certainly packs one heck of a punch.

And, as if that’s not enough, we have 12 great character posters featuring who are likely to be the movie’s main cast including Bloodsport, Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Amanda Waller, Captain Boomerang, Polka-Dot Man, Rick Flag, King Shark, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, Thinker and Weasel – you can see all those below – but be warned, the trailer is actually pretty gory and the language is choice so, for that reason, it’s getting the ol’ NSFW tag.

UPATE: A cool new theatrical trailer has dropped too and it looks like a much better take on the movie. Whatever happens, this is looking like a date for the cinema (hopefully) or HBO Max this August.

Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave… and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself).

If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.
