Yes! Alan Tudyk to try destroying earth again as Resident Alien gets second season on SYFY

Yes! Our favourite show on TV right now – well, just wrapped – has just been renewed for a second season.

SYFY’s Resident Alien which stars the always great Firefly and Rogue One star Alan Tudyk as an alien forced to fit in here on earth after his ship crashes and his mission to blow the planet is put on temporary pause, was ten 45min episodes of pure fun and we were waiting for news that it would be returning as SYFY, well, haven’t always got the best history when it comes to returning series

Lisa Katz, SYFY’s president of scripted content, said: “With Resident Alien, everything just came together in perfect harmony — a script by Chris Sheridan that leapt off the page, a lead performance by Alan Tudyk, whose nuance between comedy and menace was pitch perfect and a team of producers, cast and crew who were all striving to do something great.

“The appeal of this show transcended the sci-fi genre in a way that enabled us to bring in a broader audience, and as the series continues we hope to encourage more and more fans to discover Harry’s very particular perspective on humans.”

Tudyk realises that the series renewal is almost a spoiler for anyone who hasn’t see the show, saying: “It kinda gives away that Harry doesn’t complete his mission and destroy the human race at the end of this season, but it’s great to get another season’s worth of trying to do it!”

The show has been a big hit for SYFY and, honestly, it’s no surprise as it’s a series that brings the comedy, sci-fi and emotion in equally engrossing ways with a cast as oddball as they are brilliant. If you’venot seen it yet, take it from me… you’re going to love it.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer.
