Well, that was quick…
Alec Baldwin has announced the no, he is NOT going to be in The Joker movie as Thomas Wayne.
“I’m no longer doing that movie,” the actor said, claiming “scheduling” issues got in the way and besides that, he added: “I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.”
The role alledgedly has Thomas as a Donald Trump-esque figure (a cheesy and tanned businessman who is more in the mold of a 1980s Donald Trump.)which seems to not have appealed to Baldwin (who has been big news recently playing, em, Donald Trump), who said on Twitter:
“Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque. That is not happening. Not. Happening.”
So there you have it… not happening. Not. Happening.
The cast of the movie so far is pretty impressive with Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker along with Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, and Zazie Beetz.
Warners have confirmed Joker will be heading for the Halloween slot next year, aiming for am October 4th, 2019 release date.
Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque.
That is not happening.
Not.
