If, like us all here at FTN Towers, you’re pacing the floor for the first look at the next John Wick thing, then we have good news… it seems we’re going to get our first look at Ana de Armas’ Ballerina soon!
Speaking about the first big screen John Wick spinoff while promoting here new movie, Eden, de Armas said we shouldn’t worry about the movie’s reshoots and Wick fans are in for a treat.
The movie, directed by Live Free or Die Hard’s Len Wiseman was originally set to release this year but when it was done John Wick director and overseer of the Wick universe Chad Stahelski thought it needed more action scenes and reshoots to make it fit better with the other movies.
“All we did in those reshoots had to be there. We got amazing footage. It’s really spectacular,” de Armas says.
“A trailer is coming out soon, I’ve been told. I saw it, and it’s beautiful. I’m very proud of it. It’s really exciting. It’s dangerous, it’s sexy, it’s very John Wick . I think people are going to be surprised. I’m biased. Of course, I like the movie, but I think it’s really cool. It’s going to be amazing.”
Ian McShane talks John Wick, Ballerina additional filming and more
In the movie de Armas plays a ballerina/killer called Rooney who is hunting the people who killed her family; it takes place between John Wick 3 and 4 and sees several actors from the Wick movies return, including Keanu Reeves as Wick and Ian McShane as Winston Scott. The late Lance Reddick will make his final on-screen appearance as Charon in the movie.
The movie is the second John Wick spinoff with last year’s The Continental limited TV series being the first, but it’s far from the last with a High Table series in development along with other movies and even anime.
