We have suspected for some time now that Spider-Man: No Way Home would be the MCU/Sony’s attempt at a live-action into the Spider-verse with Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire returning as their previous incarnations of Spidey, with the movie coming just before Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, we fully expect there to be a lot of cross-realities going on.
Indeed, once we learned that Alfred Molina is returning as Doc Ock and Jamie Fox as Electro, both enemies from the previous Spider-man movies, we felt pretty confident we were set to see the three – including the MCU’s Holland – Spider-men (mans?) on screen together.
However, in a couple of days ago Garfield, during a couple of different interviews, said he ‘hasn’t had a phone call’ to be in the movie, which may be hi saying he’s not in the movie although, when specifically asked for a yes or no about his involvement, he refused to give one (here).
But now in a new interview with Access (below), the star simply said “Never say never” when asked if he’s in the movie.
Now, it’s still not an admission that he is in the movie, but it’s certainly more open-ended than he tried to be previously.
So, what say you all? Check out the interview below and let me know if you think he’s in the movie… I do think he is, but at this stage, it’s hard to know.
