Another Nightmare on Elm Street remake is coming…

August 8th, 2015 by Jonathan Snelling Comments

movie-news-banner-copyNoES2010_1 recently posted an article that could get some horror fans hiding behind their sofas for a while. What’s this you ask? Well a remake of the infamous Nightmare on Elm Street of course.

Referencing a report from Tracking Board it states that the remake is being planned by new Line Cinema. “There’s no producer on board yet, but Orphan scribe David Leslie Johnson has been tapped to script.”

What is fortunate is that the article does note that the story will ignore the 2010 remake completely, something we can all back.

The originals hold such a high cult standard that any remake would be considered bad, and considering the 2010 remake, it’s unlikely there’ll be much support for this…

They even quote a statement by Wes Craven talking about the 2010 remake.: “I don’t even know who’s doing it and I’m not interested. It’s actually really painful to think about it. It’s the film of mine that I probably love the most… Frankly, at that time I thought it would be one movie and that’s it. I never thought it would go on and on and on.”

One, two, Freddy’s coming for you…

My name is Jonathan Snelling. I’ve been a movie fan for a long time now and last year completed a degree in Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University. It’s hard to choose a favourite film but I’ve always been a major fan of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga. I’m really interested to see how Ben Affleck does in Dawn of Justice as it's set to be an incredible film. I’m usually willing to see any genre but naturally some more so than others.
