Aquaman Movie Getting Screenplay

August 13th, 2014 by Todd Black Comments

Well, isn’t this the day of comic movie reveals? Shortly after word broke that Marvel would be going forward with an Inhumans movie. It appears that DC is preparing for a possible Aquaman film.

Yes, you heard that right, Aquaman, as in Arthur Curry, as in the King of the Seas, he’s getting a movie!

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Will Beall and Kurt Johnstad will be penning separate scripts to a possible Aquaman movie. Why separate you ask? Well, apparently this give Warner Bros not only options script wise, but it allows them to post a release date and be flexible with it should something happen.

Also, this gives both writers a desire to truly try and write the best script possible, as they know the other guy is going to try and do the same.

This news comes hot off the heels of DC revealing that they have nine movies planned after Batman v Superman releases. Though none are officially confirmed, many believe it will be filmed with solo movies of the Justice League crew. With “official” word that Jason Momoa is indeed Aquaman and that he will be in BVS in some capacity, it’s not a hard sell to think he’ll get his own movie.

Both writers have legit credits to their name. Including titles like the 300 movies, Ganster Squad, Castle and more!

As an Aquaman fan, I really hope this comes true. We’ll let you know when any more news breaks!
