Homer’s Odyssey is truly one of the most important stories every written. The tale a man’s journey to get home to his wife is a story that has infiltrated every aspect of our popular culture.

One interesting adaptation of the story was the Image Comics’ The Infinite Horizon. Set in the not-too-distant future, this six issue series focuses on a group of soldiers, led by a man known as The Captain, attempting to get home after being stranded in the Middle East.

To get back, the soldiers will have to cross half the globe and endure deadly encounters with many enemies including the Cyclops and the Sirens… but first he will have to survive the final hours of the war.

A script is currently being developed by the writer of Hercules, Ryan Condall, and is being produced by Greg Berlanti. Berlanti has a good deal of experience working with comic properties, functioning as the producer of both Arrow and The Flash.

Overall, it is still too early to tell how this movie will turn out. However, I am always open to a reinterpretation of a classic story. This, in combination with the creative team, is enough for me to keep an eye on this project.
