Barbarian writer has Joker and Harley Quinn script ready to go…

While we all are pacing the floor to see who Batman will be in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU, we are also wondering who Joker will be… I mean, surely Harley is still Margot Robbie, right? But it seems there’s a script out there for Joker and Harley that might just be winging its way to Gunn’s desk.

In a new interview, below, Barbarian writer Zach Creggar revealed that before he wrote that acclaimed horror script, he penned one that took place in Gotham City, although he has never sent it to Warners Bros, DC or anyone else, despite him saying he likes it more than any other script he’s written.

Tom Rhys Harries is officially the DCU’s Clayface

Now, word is that the script not only takes place in Gotham but focuses on Joker and Harley and an additional rumour has it that it’s a horror story told through the eyes of one of Joker’s henchmen.

While Creggar says no one at WB/DC has seen the script, he is keen to get eyes on it, and, given the quality of Barbarian, I would imagine Gunn would at the very least want to read it and we also know that Gunn has no issue fast-tracking scripts he likes – just look at the Clayface movie.

Tidbit:

The movie would be called Henchman and Batman could appear: “According to sources, Henchmen would center on a low-level henchman in the Gotham crime world who gains notoriety after managing to incapacitate Batman through a stroke of luck.

“The Dark Knight could appear briefly in the movie, while Harley Quinn and Joker are in the project as well. Cregger has not yet pitched it to DC Studios, though the company is said to be aware of his interest.”

Anyway, Joker has been done dirty in recent years on the big screen, so seeing him and Harley together with a proper comicbook feel and look could be something very special and whatever happens, be it this script or another one, Joker and Harley are destined for the DCU sooner or later.

Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all.
