Have we now got a good idea on the suit(s) Ben Affleck’s Batman will wear in the Batman Vs Superman movie? Perhaps…
The guys at Latinoreview are reporting that Marvelous Dave’s hot weekly column has some news on the batsuits from the new movie and it sounds cool and may give us an insight into something that might happen in the movie: “Batman will actually wear two batsuits in the film,” they report, “but where as the Grey-and-Blue has already been designed and Affleck has worn it, the second Batsuit is more armored like the one in the Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come comics.”
The grey suit is something we’ve heard about from very early on, with word on the street being that it is inspired by Jim Lee’s Batman (above left), which has us giddy here as the Batsuit from the comics hasn’t really been done onscreen since the 60s TV series.
However, more interestingly, the armoured suit will be plated with a black undersuit (perhaps a little like Miller’s suit in Dark Knight Returns (above right and below): “The plating is silver/white. The plates are attached to a black undercloth. The plates doesn’t cover his entire body. We see the black undercloth at the joints. Supposedly, it looks incredible. Equally, or maybe even better-looking than the other suit and it’s leagues above and beyond Bale’s suit from what I’m told.”
Apparently we’ll get our first look at the suits in February or early March.
This is interesting news, we here at FTN have a theory that Batman will come out of semi-retirement in this movie after he sees the destruction of Metropolis, as seen in Man Of Steel, and will team up with fellow billionaire Lex Luthor to stop the alien threat. Is the suit of armour to be used like the one in Frank Millar’s Dark Knight Returns (below)? Or perhaps Luthor will create on of his massive robot suits and Batman will have to stop it? Personally, I hope it’s the former because I really want to see Superman taking a hammering at the hands of Batman. Just like below.
