It looks like the ‘how old is Bruce Wayne’ in Dawn of Justice speculation can finally end…
With rumours flying that Bruce would be in his 50s in the new movies, I’ll not lie, I was a little worried because, frankly, unless they are going down the Batman Beyond road, it’s too old. But it looks like things have been exaggerated.
We know that Zack Snyder confirmed he’d be a “seasoned crimefighter” and that the story is heavily influenced by Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns but just how old was he going to be? We’ve seen Affleck sporting the grey hair but a man under that sort of pressure can go grey pretty early, yes? Hopefully.
Well, it looks like producer Michael Uslan, in an interview with Asbury Park Press, may have cleared the whole thing up: “So, this [controversial superhero casting] has happened time and again, and it happened with Affleck. To go back to the original thought of Bruce Wayne in his mid-40s, I think he’s going to be extraordinary.”
So, Bruce Wayne will be the age of Ben Affleck. That’s a bit easier to digest and given that, in the mythology, Bruce puts the suit on when he’s in his mid-30s then that gives him 10 years to become a myth and legend in Gotham.
