Big news on the future of Joker and Harley in the DC Cinematic Universe

February 14th, 2019 by Marc Comments

It looks like more changes are afoot with the DC Movie universe over at Warner Brothers.

I know you’re shocked to hear that.

So, we all know that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is set to headline the Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) movie, but it seems that she will NOT be appearing in the planned Gotham City Sirens movie or in James Gunn’s upcoming The Suicide Squad.

Despite Robbie’s absence, the Gotham City Sirens movie is still happening.

On top of that, the Joker/Harley movie that was rumoured a while ago has been scrapped.

Sadly we can’t help but feel that this is down to James Gunn’s arrival at Warners. Gunn and Joker actor Jared Leto have a chequered history together and when Gunn was announced it was pretty much expected that that meant Leto would not be appearing in the Suicide Squad sequel… could there be politics now affecting Robbie, Leto and their future movies together?

We hope not… be we’ve been seeing a lot of this nonsense recently.

Birds of Prey is set to be released in theaters on February 7, 2020.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
