Big screen version of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot gets screenwriter

April 13th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Given the resurgence of Stephen King’s novels getting the big – and small – screen treatment, it was only a matter of time before his classic vampire tale, Salem’s Lot, got put front and centre too.

And now Annabelle Comes Home witer/director Gary Dauberman has stepped up to take on the New Line movie.

Dauberman will be screenwriter on the project which will be produced by horror guru James Wan along with Roy Lee and Mark Wolper.

The story is, of course, iconic not just as the book but also for being the creepy 1979 miniseries which starred David Soul and was directed by horror legend Tobe Hooper. It had a sequel in 2004 and was remade (it’s ok, I don’t recall it either) in a 2004 tw-part series starring Rob Lowe.

If you like a good scare in the cinema, then Salem’s Lot – if done right – could be the thrill you’ve been waiting for.

We’ll give you the updates as we hear them, so stay on this channel and don’t forget to let me know your thoughts on this development.
