Most excellent news!
Alex Winter, aka Bill S. Preston, Esq, has been chatting with Forbes and says that the third Bill & Ted movie is well on the way to being a thing: “we’re all working on the film everyday,” he says.
The actor, however, is cautious about being too positive about it happening (although he is confident): “This is Hollywood, so I don’t believe it’s happening until it’s coming out.”
He is, however, confident (yeah we know it’s a lot of too-ing and fro-ing) that a late 2016 or early 2017 shooting start is looking likely and he assures us that Keanu Reeves will be back as Ted Theodore Logan: “How the f*** would we make it if he wasn’t on board? People always ask if Keanu’s doing it and I’m like, ‘No, I’m making a Bill movie.’ Of course he’s in it. I can’t make a Bill & Ted movie without Keanu.”
As for the finer details? “We’ve been working on it for, like, six years. We’re knee deep in the script [by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the writers of the first two films]. We have a script, we have a director, we have a studio – we’re just trying to nail down a start date.”
Will it happen this time? We’re not holding our breath, but we certainly hope so…
