It looks like the Blade Runner sequel is going to be hitting hard for the adult market and won’t be watering down the sex and violence.
The movie, Blade Runner 2049, will officially be rater R in the US, presumably hitting a 15 or 18 rating in the UK.
According to a bulletin from the Motion Picture Association of America the movie attained the rating for “violence, some sexuality, nudity and language.”
The original movie in 1982 was an R-rated outing so it looks like we can expect something close in tone. We’re excited… are you?
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
From executive producer Ridley Scott and director Denis Villeneuve, #BladeRunner2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana De Armas, MacKenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto.
An Alcon Entertainment film, Warner Bros. will release Blade Runner 2049 in theaters and IMAX on October 6th, 2017.
