Blink and you’ll miss it but the SDCC Thor Ragnarok trailer confirmed that Man-Thing, Beta Ray Bill, Ares and Bi-Beast are in the MCU

We got the new trailer for Thor: Ragnarok at SDCC at the weekend (watch it here)and there’s a very cool nod to other characters in the MCU.

The folks at Marvel Cinematic Universe posted the really fun image below featuring a look at The Grandmaster’s tower (below) and there’s a very interesting bit of sculpting joining on.

Well, because it seems to feature Man-Thing, Beta Ray Bill, Ares and Bi-Beast:

How cool is that?

Man-Thing: A large semi-intelligent creature that dwells in the Florida Everglades. He is the sole guardian of the Nexus of All Realities located there.

Beta Ray Bill:  The cyborg champion of the Korbinites, Beta Ray Bill guarded his people as they fled attack by demons. When he encountered Thor and proved worthy to wield Mjolnir, Odin bestowed upon him the powers of Thor and created an equally powerful hammer for Bill, the Stormbreaker.

Ares: The god of war. Obviously.

Bi-Beast: The Bi-Beast is comparable to a combination of Bruce Banner and the Hulk together. Super strong, durable, feral, yet has the intellect of Bruce. This makes the Bi-Beast a dangerous foe.

Does this mean we’ll see them in the movies? Well, no. But, like Howard the Duck’s cameo in the first Guardians of the Galaxy, isn’t it fun to know they exist in the MCU and are possibly out there?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
