Blumhouse have discussed bringing back Hellraiser and Scream

February 19th, 2019 by Marc Comments

It looks like two of our favourite horror franchises, Scream and Hellraiser (well, the earlier movies for sure) may be gone but definitely not forgotten.

In a recent interview, Blumhouse boss Jason Blum revealed that, while at the minute nothing is happening with the franchises, they are on the front of their minds: “Yes, we definitely have [discussed it],” he says.

“We’re looking – there’s nothing happening with either one of those things – but we’re definitely looking at it, and it’s definitely something I’d be open to.”

We’re not sure if Scream could work without the guiding hand of the late Wes Craven to oversee it, but we feel that  – and we know the TV series is heading for a third season – the world needs a little Ghostface to  shake things up and after Blumhouse’s successful resureection of Halloween last year, we’d be confident for them to have a – ahem – stab at it.

Here’s hoping for the return of our terrifying favourites in the near future.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
