Among all the rumours of the turmoil in Warners and DC Comics’ movie universe, we’re also hearing that Ben Affleck is becoming a much bigger part of it that just playing Superman.
Many are saying that after the tone of Batman V Superman DC and Warners are having long chats with Zack Snyder about changing the tone of Justice League. Along with this we have heard the Ben Affleck now has complete control over the Batman Standalone movie.
And now both those worlds have collided.
Deadline are reporting that Warner Bros have made Affleck Justice League’s Executive Producer as well as starring as Batman. What does this mean? Well “In that role, he will work with director Zack Snyder and screenwriter Chris Terrio behind the scenes to make the film the best it can be. It seems like a smart move, given that Affleck is already on the premises to reprise his Batman/Bruce Wayne character, and because he’s as strong a storytelling presence as Warner Bros has on its lot.”
Reports are keen to point out that this is Affleck’s way of showing support for Snyder after having a great experience working with him on BvS and not to take any sort of control off him.
We think this is a great development and good news for the DC Universe overall…
