Jurassic World was hugely successful when it came out. It eventually became the highest grossing film of the year, although Star Wars is predicted to beat it. I have to admit that I did not think too highly of the film before I saw it. I loved the original and thought that this would just be a bad remake. It wasn’t. Jurassic World was actually rather good in my opinion.

There is one thing however that many people did consider being unrealistic. Ignoring the dinosaurs, the deaths and the science being off, what people most argued to be unrealistic was Bryce Dallas Howard running through the entire movie in heels. Well, Howard has confirmed that the heels will not show up in the sequel.

She also commented on the whole controversy saying that the character was in heels because she always is. She wouldn’t have expected to have to go cross country with them on. It seems more realistic to the character than not having them on in my opinion: “The way that Colin [Trevorrow] told me that the sequel was happening, when it got greenlit, and that I was going to be in it, he texted me #NoHeels2018. And I was like, ‘Yeah, boy!’”

After the great success of the film Universal instantly gave the green light for the sequel. Colin Trevorrow will be involved but not as director. He did tease the story though. With the genomes and DNA still surviving from the first film the story will revolve around rival companies making their own dinosaurs. There was a theme in Jurassic World to use the dinosaurs as weapons, particularly the Velociraptors, and it seems this theme will be continued in the sequel.

Chris Pratt will return as Raptor researcher Owen. We don’t know where this sequel will start or where the characters will be. We also don’t know if some of the famous dino’s will be returning. We know that as it’s a Jurassic Park film there will be deaths and disaster. What’s interesting here is that this time it’s likely to be a more global scale.

Jurassic world 2 is scheduled for release on 22nd June 2018.
