For what seems like forever now, Channing Tatum has been optimistic that his long-over due Gambit movie was still happening at 20th Century Fox.
Honestly, there’s been so much going on with the movie’s productions – it’s happening, it’s not – it has a date change, it has another date change – it has a new director, it has another new director – you can follow it all here if you need to catch up, we almost lost our way trying to keep up.
However, one constant throughout the whole thing has been Tatum’s enthusiasm and confident in the movie in which he was set to join the X-Men universe as the titular character.
However, now Collider’s Steven Weintraub has said he was talking to Tatum about the project and, well, things sound like they’re taking a dip with it: “He said nothing new to report and he’s got no idea if and when they’re making it,” reports Weintraub.
If this is true, then it seems that, as we suspected all along, with the Disney buy-out of Fox’s movies, we may see no more X-Men adventures. Still, that means he may to open to play him in the MCU if that happens.
Honestly, at this stage of the X-Force movie joined the ‘not going to happen’ camp we’d not be surprised. Disappointed, yes, but surprised? Sadly not.
What say you all?
Just spoke to @channingtatum at the #SMALLFOOT junket. After the interview ended asked him what’s up with the #gambit movie. He said nothing new to report and he’s got no idea if and when they’re making it. pic.twitter.com/KSW33v49Pc
