Do you remember the mental 1979 movie Time After Time? The one where Malcolm McDowell played HG Wells and chased David Warner’s Jack The Ripper through time? Trust me, if you’d seen it, you’d remember it.

It’s great by the way.

Anyway, Scream (the movie) writer Kevin Williamson has picked the movie, based on a novel of the same name by Karl Alexander as his next project for an ABC TV Series after Warner Bros gave over the rights to a movie.

“Time After Time will chronicle the epic adventures of young H.G. Wells and his Time Machine.”

Williamson will write the pilot script and will executive produce through his Outerbanks Entertainment and WBTV. Williamson co-created  The Vampire Diaries, created Dawson’s Creek and also wrote I Know What You Did Last Summer.

I was a massive fan of the movie back in the day – although I must admit i haven’t seen it in years, and with shows like Sleepy Hollow currently doing big business, this should find its audience. Now let’s just hopw they can keep it as fun as it needs to be…

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
