It looks like Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, may have joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming Lion King remake in a pretty awesome role.
Footage from the movie, directed by Iron Man’s Jon Favreau, was screened at D23 and has been met with much praise but the most interesting bit is this:

The movie, set for a 2019 release, will (probably) see Jackman playing Scar, the villain of the movie.
We say probably because there seems to be some confusion as to wether or not Jackman IS playing the role with several sites saying he is, some saying he’s not and a few (like us) sitting on the fence and saying… he might.
We really can’t be any more confident at this point, sorry.
We know that John Oliver recently joined the cast as Zazu, the advisor for the king and that many expected Jeremy Irons to return to the role he played in the animated original. However we reckon Jackman has the chops to make this a fun villain.
In other casting news we already know that Donald Glover will play Simba, with James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa. Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen will play Timon and Pumbaa.
So there you have it… do you think Jackman could pull it off? Let us know…
