Dammit! Jon Hamm denies Dr Strange talks

August 22nd, 2014 by Marc Comments

One of my favourite TV shows is Mad Men and a lot of that boils down to Jon Hamm’s fantastic performance as Don Draper. His character is smart, effortlessly cool and complex beyond the telling of it. So he’s perfect for Doctor Strange.

But it looks like it might not be on the cards. D’oh!

Digital Spy caught up with Hamm and asked him if there was any truth to the rumours that he’s one of Marvel’s favourites for Sorcerer Supreme: “The funny thing about the internet is you can have rumors go on about possible jobs, and possible things that you have no idea. Maybe, I don’t know. It’s funny when the internet knows more about you than you do, but maybe they’ve been talking to someone at Marvel. I certainly wasn’t approached about it, but I do like Doctor Strange. He’s a cool character.”

You can watch the video on Digital Spy but we may just be being hopeful when we say that he kinda seems to be holding back a little. What do you guys think? Could Hamm be the man for the job?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
