Dan Stevens and Kaitlyn Dever to lead next Monsterverse adventure

It looks like things are hotting up in the inner-earth again as the next Monsterverse movie targets its two leads.

Following on from the events of last year’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, it seems that Legendary want Abigail and The Guest star Dan Stevens to return as Trapper, the monster dentist (no, really) along with Dope Sick and Last Man Standing star Kaitlyn Dever.

The movie will be the sixth big screen visit to the world of Godzilla, King Kong and all sorts of awesome silliness and will be helmed by I Am Mother’s Grant Sputore and, according to Legendary, it will feature “several new human characters alongside the beloved and iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.” Isn’t it always?

Stevens, left, was a highlight in the last movie and will certainly be a welcome return, added to this Dever is a real talent and is always a joy to watch, so the plan is looking good so far.

I’m a big, big fan of the Monsterverse and while I have to admit it has become much sillier as it went along, starting off with the very straight-faced Godzilla waaaaaaaay back in 2014, I have the comics, love the two TV shows and will be seated opening night for this too.

Now we just have to wait and see which Titans Kong and Godzilla will be facing off against next.

Thoughts? I wanna hear them, Monsterverse fans!

Next Monsterverse movie gets a writer and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 to have more Kong… and Kurt Russell?
