David Ayer confirms major rumoured storyline cut from Suicide Squad

May 11th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Suicide Squad writer/director David Ayer has confirmed the original plot of the movie was considerably different than the movie we got.

We have known for a while that Ayer’s movie was heavily cut, reshot and edited before release, creating a very different movie than we got.

Twitter user @MarvOnTheWay wrote on Twitter: “From what I’ve heard, after Joker’s helicopter crashed, he made a deal with enchantress where he’d take Harley and be the king of Gotham and was present in the third act. Since SS was mainly a Harley (And Deadshot) film, the temptation would have been greater.”

Ayer replied:

This backs up the rumours we heard that Ayer’s original movie had a much bigger role in mind for Leto’s Joker and that he would have essentially become the villain at the end of the movie along with Enchantress.

Personally, I like Suicide Squad as a fun distraction, but over time we have learned that the monster army Enchantress had were originally set to be Parademons and that the beam of light was to be Boom Tube, meaning that it was to directly tie into the plot of Batman V Superman and Justice League.

What do you all think? Did you like Suicide Squad? Did you hate it? Would Ayer’s vision have helped? Let me hear your thoughts, gang…
