Dawn Of The Apes lands Zero Dark Thirty star

February 19th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Earlier today The Hollywood Reporter broke that Jason Clarke, now a breakout actor thanks to his performance as a CIA agent in Zero Dark Thirty, has signed on to star in 20th Century Fox’s sequel: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Not much is known at this time. The film will be directed by Matt Reeves. Most of the plot is under wraps but it is set 15 years after the events of 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes. My guess is they will all be talking at this point.

Caesar, once again played the the great Andy Serkis, will have a struggle on his hands maintaining his Ape Empire. One other plot point that is known revolves around a group of human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco.

It is uknown whether Clarke will play a human or ape. But my guess is you don’t hire a rising star to put him in an ape suit, digital or otherwise.
