Further to our report a couple of weeks ago, it seems that DC/Warners have indeed confirmed that a Plasticman script is in the works for the DC Cinematic Universe.
DC Daily (below) has confirmed a “comedic, action-driven, script” focusing on Patrick “Eel” O’Brian is indeed coming.
The Mayor screenwriter Amanda Idoko will be on writing duties as far as we know and the movie is set to be a comedy action/adventure for Warners/New Line, the same folk who are bringing us Shazam!
Plasticman is really Patrick “Eel” O’Brian in the comics, a former criminal who is a good guy after he was covered in toxic chemicals during a criminal adventure which, yup, now allows him to manipulate his body in any given way since it’s… plastic now.
We’ll be watching this with great interest and, of course, will be keeping you posted as and when we hear more.
But we know that with the lighter tone of Aquaman the DC universe moving forward could be a much stranger place…
