Over Christmas talk turned to The Shazam movie and Dwayne Johnson playing Black Adam after he and Superman himself, Henry Cavill, put an image of them both together on social media and everyone – ourselves included – got a little excited about the fact that maybe, just maybe, they were hinting at a Black Adam Vs Superman meeting in the DC Cinematic Universe.

And now this.

Hiram Garcia, Shazam, producer and vice president of The Rock’s production company, Seven Bucks Productions, has tweeted that he’s had a big meeting at DC Comics regarding the Shazam movie and he said that “Big things are coming”.

The Shazam movie, originally hoped to be released in April 5th, 2019, has been something of an enigma at Warners as it was announced that The Rock was playing Black Adam and it seemed as if everything was happening and then it sort of fell off the radar altogether.

But now it seems it’s back on track and we’re hoping to hear more very soon.

Are you excited for Shazam and Black Adam on the big screen? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
