Did Jared Leto just tease his return to playing the Joker?

While Jared Leto was annoyed that much of his material didn’t make it into the final cut of Suicide Squad – look, it wasn’t his movie, he was a cameo appearance, much like Vader in Rogue One, ok? – we never doubted for a second that he would be back in the DC Cinematic Universe at some point.

Maybe in Justice League? Or Gotham City Sirens? Or perhaps in the Batman movie? Either way, we never doubted.

Although many in the wonderful land of the internet did doubt.

But who’s right?

Well, while we still don’t know for sure, Leto just shared two images on Snap Chat (below) that seem to hint that he’s coming back – first is an image of The Killing Joke, Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s timeless graphic novel as well as what looks like a tooth with a golden crown and cap on a necklace… could this be one of the teeth that, according to the hidden movie lore, Batman knocked out of his head after he killed Robin?

Who knows, but take a look at the images, right down to the colours of the box the tooth is in, this has to be a Joker nod.

Doesn’t it?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
