Disney CEO confirms that Deadpool, X-Men and Fantastic Four are heading to the MCU

December 15th, 2017 by Marc Comments

Well, now that the deal is done and Marvel have their grimy kits back on the properties owned by 20th Century Fox, we are wondering what will come next.

And it looks like some exciting stuff lies ahead.

Firstly, one of the big worries fans have is that now that Deadpool will be heading to Marvel, will we see the same x-rated content? Well, Disney CEO Bob Iger says that it’s certainly not off the table: “There may be an opportunity for an R-rated Marvel brand as long as we let audiences know what’s coming.”

This should be encouraging because it at least means they are considering more adult content in the MCU that would live alongside the likes of the Netflix series.

Next up, Iger has confirmed that your favourite heroes are all heading to join the MCU: “We’re also looking forward to expanding the Marvel cinematic universe to include X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool and reuniting all of the Star Wars movies under one roof, which opens new opportunities for that franchise.”

So, there you have it, now the only characters that Marvel don’t have free reign with are the ones living at Sony such as the upcoming Venom, Black Cat and Morbius movies… but we all know i’s probably only a matter of time before we see them all coming home too.

Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
