The House of Mouse is continuing its rebooting of all its major movies with live-action remakes in style.

First up, the live-action Mulan is set to arrive in cinemas on November 2nd, 2018 (it’ll have a 3D release too) and Disney has promised it will find a Chinese actress to play the legendary character.

Jurassic World’s Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver will be rewriting the current script by Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin: “Mulan is based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, the daughter of an aged warrior who disguises herself as a man in order to take her father’s place in the army and go to war. Aided by her trusted dragon, Mushu, she becomes a skilled warrior and one of the country’s greatest heroines.”

In related news, it seems Disney what Sherlock Holmes and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director Guy Ritchie to bring Aladdin to the (live-action0 big screen: John August wrote the script for the live-action version, which sources say will keep many of the musical elements of the original. Still to be determined is the approach to the Genie, which to this day remains closely associated to [Robin] Williams’ singular and defining performance.”

While we look forward to seeing both these movies, we really don’t envy whoever eventually gets cast as the Genie in Aladdin – would you want to step into the shoes filled so well by the late Robin Williams? No, neither would we…

Let us know.
