Cabin In The Woods is one of our favourite movies here at FTN and, well, if you’ve seen it, you’ll know there’s no way a sequel could happen.

But that would never keep a good (bad?) studio down. Co-writer Drew Goddard has revealed that Lionsgate would really like a sequel to happen. Yes, we know… how!?

Anyway…

“The studio wants to do it. They’ve come to us,” he said, “There’s nothing in the hopper right now, but who knows? The way [co-writer] Joss [Whedon] and I work, we might wake up tomorrow and go, ‘let’s go do that’, or whatever,”

The movie deconstructs pretty much every horror cliche under the moon and then flips it all on its head before going completely boogaloo. And it leaves it without any doubt that a sequel can’t happen.

That said, if anyone can come up with a fun way to make it happen, it’s Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard. Just do us a favour lads, don’t let it go to some hack who drives it straight to home-release, ok?

Want a sequel to Cabin in the Woods? We want to hear your thought…

Oh, have fun with this too…

buffy theory

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
