Elizabeth Moss to star in Universal’s Invisible Man movie

March 4th, 2019 by Marc Comments

So we reported a few weeks ago we reported that Universal are moving ahead with their Invisible Man movie (here) albeit as a standalone adventure and no longer part of the Dark Universe shared universe project.

Well, now we have a bit of news on who will be the star of the movie… Mad Men star Elizabeth Moss.

Sources say the negotiations are in the extremely early stages, but if they were to move forward, Moss would star in the film with “Upgrade” filmmaker Leigh Whannell writing and directing. Sources also indicate that Johnny Depp, who was originally tapped to play the title character, will not be involved.

As of yet, it hasn’t been revealed who Moss will be playing in the movie, but given the current trend, we’d imagine there’s a very good chance they’re looking at gender -swopping the role. And, we’d imagine, the title of the movie.

That said, she may not be the titular character at all, but we do know Moss is a superb actress and we’ll hold on hope that Universal isn’t just being as lazy as we fear they are here.

Thoughts?
