Em, the Suicide Squad sequel lost the director no-one knew it almost had. Or something…

Here’s a weird one…

Last we heard there were no frontrunners for Suicide Squad 2 (although we heard Mel Gibson was interested) but it seems there was a name in the loop.

But now there’s not,

It seems that Jaume Collet-Serra, director of Non-Stop, Run All Night and The Shallows, has left the movie and is no headed for Disney to direct Dwayne Johnson in Jungle Cruise because it’s “a better opportunity with a bankable global star, as opposed to continuing on with a storyline originated by another filmmaker.”

Right. That’s nice, then.

So there we go… Suicide Squad 2 has no immediate director lined up. But we were none the wiser until we wrote this.

Who would you like to see direct the DC/Warners sequel? Let us know…
