So many story possibilities! That’s all that goes through my head at the mention of an Obi-Wan Kenobi spin off movie!

One of the great things about a world as rich as Star Wars is all the stories left untold. Actor Ewan McGregor, who played Kenobi in the prequels, knows the possibilities too. In fact he’s asked about reprising the character frequently. While out promoting his directorial debut, American Pastoral, he was once again asked about returning to the Star Wars movie universe.

“I’ve always thought there was a story to tell between my last one and Alec Guinness’ first one. It would be fun to film that story now I’m older,” McEwan explained, “I’d be the right age. I’m forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them (laughs)!”

He did make sure to point out that nothing is actually in the works, but plenty ideas have floated around the Internet, such as a movie based on Kenobi’s time on Tatooine watching over a young Luke Skywalker as he grows. So what would you like to see out of a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi movie?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
