Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them has added another member to its cast. It has been announced that Katherine Waterson will be joining the cast.
Waterson has recently stared in Inherent Vice, as well as Robot and Frank and Michael Clayton.
According to the article, Waterson will be playing the role of Tina, or Porpentina, a witch who operates in the US. Waterson beat out multiple actresses for this role, including Dakota Fanning, Saoirse Ronan and Lili Simmons.
The film is set to revolve around the character of Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who documents magical creatures, and wrote about his discoveries in his book, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them.
The film takes place 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter franchise, and will explore the American side of the Harry Potter Universe. Here’s hoping that it can live up to the high standard of quality that people expect from the franchise.
