Fast & Furious franchise is “still developing…”

November 14th, 2014 by Marc Comments

So just the other day it looked like Justin Lin might be coming back to do the final two Fast & Furious movies (here) but it seems there’s more to come than just the two more…

Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley has said there’s still big plans in store for the franchise, moving forward: “We think there’s at least three more… I think it’s still a growing franchise. We’ll see what happens with Furious 7, obviously, but our box office has grown over the past three or four films and internationally, in particular. So we think that there’s more to mine there. But we’re of course very mindful about fatigue.”

So at least three more, huh? Looks like the death of Paul Walker wasn’t the stumbling block many thought it would be. As a big fan of the series I’m conflicted about this; I want more like the last few, but I’m aware the bottom could fall out very, very quickly.

What are you guys’ thoughts on this?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
